The top has wood braces sandwiched between two molded plastic sheets, the top sheet a very attractive beige color (adds some life to the room). The plastic sheets are then sonic welded together. Threaded inserts are used for the attachment of the legs, this means less chance for legs to be pulled out. Of course the legs will lay flat when folded for transport or storage.
